The meetings explored joint investments and industrial cooperation and formed part of a broader mission to help Dubai-based businesses access African markets.


Non‑Oil Trade Surges as Dubai–Ethiopia Forum Concludes

During the Dubai–Ethiopia Business Connect forum, Dubai Chamber reported that non‑oil trade between Ethiopia and Dubai reached AED 22.3 billion (≈US$6.1 billion) in 2025, a 236.6 % increase. Ninety‑one Ethiopian firms joined Dubai’s chamber in Q1 2026, raising active membership to 1,676.


Yirgalem Agro‑Industrial Park Generates US$2.5 Million from Avocado Exports

China’s Ming Yang Group pledged US$14 billion to develop 8.4 GW of wind and solar capacity and build green-ammonia production and equipment manufacturing facilities in Ethiopia. The investment is US$4.1 billion higher than an earlier commitment and is expected to create jobs and generate foreign currency.


Ethiopia Poised to Become the World’s Fourth‑Largest Coffee Producer

A USDA report forecasts Ethiopia’s coffee output will rise to 12.1 million 60‑kg bags, surpassing Indonesia and making the country the world’s fourth‑largest producer. Gains are driven by favourable weather, rehabilitation programmes, mechanised farms and private investment. Exports to China surged 264 %, reaching 670,000 bags valued at US$274 million.


Afar Region Inaugurates Roads and Bridge Worth 433 Million Birr

The Afar region opened a 64‑km gravel road and steel bridge costing 361 million birr and an 18 km road costing 72 million birr, benefiting more than 81,000 and 16,000 residents.
